Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has already started streaming on Netflix. But there is a sad twist to it. The film is not available in India. It is meant only for the Global audience. Now, Dhurandhar is an Indian film, and it is the Indians who have to keep waiting. Regardless, JioHotstar bagged the digital rights of the movie in India, and there would be no problem if JioHotstar also streamed it. Given the incredibly wide audience of the platform, it would have done better than Netflix India. However, that is not the case.
The movie will start streaming on JioHotstar only after the 4th of June.
Now, think about it. The digital print of the movie is already out on the internet. That too with the extra 3 minutes. Will the Indian people wait till June 4th just to watch Dhurandhar 2?
Well, that is a naive thought. A film as huge as Dhurandhar 2 is very very tempting. People will not waste time waiting for the super delayed release date of the film on JioHotstar. They will find out ways to watch the film, even if it is not the most legal way.
JioHotstar grabbed the greatest OTT deal of the year, but it will see the deal going to drain just because of the nearly 20-day wait. The Internet is fast, and so is people’s patience.
