After making it to Netflix Top 10 list for Non-English films, ‘Sector 36’ again manages it to the list and even to the number 2 spot. It is keeping its streak high and the views are continuously rising too. For the list for 16 to 22 September, there is only one film above Sector 36 and that is Officer Black Belt.
For the previous week, the viewership was around 3.6 million in the global stage and now it has got up to 6.1 million. But what is working for the movie that it is getting such huge views internationally?
The movie is well-executed and there is no doubt about it of course, but that only does not do. There is a rise in interest in serial killers and psychopath thrillers in India in recent years. But the West has always been fascinated with psychopaths and have time and again come up with wonderful stories on the subject. Now India is discovering it as a major genre for new movies, shows and documentaries and they are welcomed by the global stage as well.
What might be working for Sector 36 so well is that the West is fascinated with how Indian film industries are coming up with original and unique stories from the genre that they have excelled in for so long.
It is likely that the movie will be more popular as the days go on. Sector 36 is also ruling the hearts of audiences in India as well and it is ready to break a few records now.
