When Ajay Devgn and Tabu led and Neeraj Pandey directorial ’Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ released in theatres many cinephiles were of the view that this film was more suited for a direct-to-digital release. So the question is, now that the film is streaming rent free on Prime Video will it get its due.
‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ boasts an exceptional cast and crew in the form of experienced A-list actors Ajay Devgn and Tabu and highly acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey. This immensely talented on screen and off screen combo still could not make the film work on big screen.
About the film, many felt that its mature and intense theme failed to keep the audiences engaged throughout and they soon started to feel disconnected with the film. This can be attributed to the fact that the attention span is rapidly reducing in today’s world where even a one minute reel if not good is scrolled away in a flash.
On the other hand, many also felt that the story had no zing and was predictable and exhausting. Despite such great talent associated with the film, it failed to deliver what was expected of it.
So what’s going to be its fate on OTT? Will ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ find its target audience on Prime Video and gain the recognition it yearned for in the first place? Well, only time can tell that.
