Zee5 has dropped the trailer of its upcoming direct-to-digital release ‘The Signature’ and its one heartbreaking story of an old man who’s not willing to lose hope while his wife is almost on death bed. Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Gajendra Ahire, ‘The Signature’ will premiere only on Zee5 on 4th October, 2024.
The trailer kicks off with a happy old couple all set to enjoy their 35th wedding anniversary. But even before the celebrations could begin, Madhu (Neena Kulkarni), the wife, falls ill, so much so that she is admitted to the hospital and is on life support. The doctors have given up and the treatment is proving to be very costly.
While the son is not in favour of continuing the treatment and wants to take his mother off the life support, her husband Arvind (Anupam Kher) is not ready to give up and will do whatever it takes to keep her alive. For him signing a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) form is not an option. The fear of losing someone is more scary than the pain of actually losing them. That’s what the film tries to show in a very emotional, heartbreaking way that will make you feel how difficult it might be for someone to lose all hope and to let go off their most loved ones.
The trailer is packed with emotions and shows a story that so heartfelt. The feeling of love, loss and hope comes through in every scene and makes you root for the characters. Who’s wrong or right ain’t the question, it’s all about how helpless you can be in certain situations. Moreover, what will life be after you have taken that decision, will you be able to live with it or will guilt take over.
‘The Signature’ is directed by Marathi filmmaker Gajendra Ahire who is known for his works like ‘Not Only Mrs. Raut’, ‘Shevri’, ‘The Silence’ and more. The film stars an ensemble cast that includes Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Neena Kulkarni, Manoj Joshi, Annu Kapoor, Sneha Paul, Kevin, Sangita Jain Bakodia and Ranvir Shorey.
The cinematography for ‘The Signature’ is handled by Krishna Soren and the production company behind ‘The Signature’ is BMB Music & Magnetics Ltd. Presented by KC Bakodia, ‘The Signature’ is co-produced by Anupam Kher Studio and will premiere on Zee5 on 4th October, 2024.
