Marvel has released the first official trailer for the Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ series. The trailer was initially supposed to arrive earlier but was delayed due to the L.A. fires. The show marks the return of Charlie Cox as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and Vincent D’Onofrio as the menacing and ruthless Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
The clip opens with Matt Murdock (Cox) and Fisk (D’Onofrio) sitting in a diner. Within seconds, we realise that these characters are still at odds. The upcoming Disney+ series takes place many years after the original Daredevil series, which ran from 2015 to 2018. The trailer shows Fisk trying to run his mayoral campaign for New York City, while Murdock has retired from his crime-fighting duties because “a line was crossed.”
We also see Daredevil encountering prominent characters such as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal); Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, aka Bullseye (Wilson Bethel); Vanessa Marianna-Fisk (Ayelet Zurer); Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson); and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
Among the new characters, we are introduced to Muse, Hector Ayala, aka White Tiger (Kamar de los Reyes), and Daniel Blade (Michael Gandolfini).
Things have drastically changed for Murdock, as Fisk is shown gaining significant political power and popularity among the masses. However, this doesn’t sit well with Murdock, given his history with Fisk. Kingpin has become more powerful than ever, presenting Murdock with his toughest challenge yet in the MCU.
The production of Daredevil: Born Again has faced numerous obstacles, including a creative overhaul in September 2023. However, that decision appears to have been worth it, as the trailer not only strengthens the show’s connection to the original Netflix series but also raises the stakes for the titular hero. Born Again will premiere on Disney+ on March 4. Watch the new trailer here!
