With Robert Pattinson running around as the newest iteration of Batman, and that too so fluidly, it might be tough for James Gunn and Peter Safran to cast a new Batman for their new DCU. It is not a surprise that the new Batman will be compared to the previous iterations of the character. but it seems like James Gunn has a plan in mind to counter this hurdle.
The studio is planning to bring in a Batman like we have never seen before. While we have seen the grizzly Ben Affleck version of the Dark Knight and Robert Pattinson’s Hot Shot Bat, we have never seen Batman as a father. And that’s what DCU Batman will be like. Based on the legendary comic run by Grant Morrison, Batman: Brave and the Bold will showcase a batman in his early thirties and as the father of Damien Wayne, the youngest robin.
The boy is a brat, raised by the league of assassins, to be the most effective murder weapon. The son of the bat has no problem in unaliving his enemies. And he does that with finesse. The movie will also include other members of the Bat family. This means that this version of Bruce won’t be a loner, but a team player. He has established himself well in the Vigilante business and is a seasoned hero.
This means that the studio is looking for an actor around the same age as its new superman, David Corenswet, who is 31. This fits perfectly with the plans of DCU, with the Batman and Superman actors ready to carry the franchise for a decade or two. It is yet to be seen what Gunn has in store for the final member of the Holy Trinity of DC, Wonder Woman, who will appear in a TV show centered in Thesyscira, titled Paradise Lost.
