It seems like Disney+’s Hawkeye series may finally get its long-awaited second season. The show, starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, is considered one of the best MCU series to date. Critics rated Season 1 a “fresh” 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, while viewers gave it a strong 88%. Now, a small update from Disney suggests that Season 2 might come out sooner than expected.
The final episode of Hawkeye premiered on December 22, 2021. Since then, Marvel has not released any updates about the show’s continuation. However, this may change, as there is now a small ray of hope.
Disney recently unveiled its first batch of Disney+ titles that will receive a special 4K UHD physical release, including popular series like The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Loki, and Hawkeye. Each collector’s edition Steelbook will feature behind-the-scenes footage, gag reels, and deleted scenes, and these editions are set to be released on December 3.

But this is not what fans are most excited about. They are more interested in the physical box for Hawkeye’s 4K release, which features the words “The Complete First Season.”
This has led many to believe that Marvel Studios may not be done with the popular holiday-themed superhero show. The studio might be planning to roll out a second season, instead of leaving the show as a miniseries.
Given how Hawkeye Season 1 ended, a second season could explore plenty of exciting plotlines and character arcs. For instance, we saw Kamala Khan recruiting Kate Bishop (Steinfeld) into the Young Avengers in the post-credits scene of The Marvels. Meanwhile, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova is now a full-fledged member of the Thunderbolts. Maya Lopez seemingly killed Kingpin in the series finale, but he is not dead, as he appeared in the Echo Disney+ series and will soon appear alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again. Stay tuned for more updates.
