Spider-Man has always been Marvel’s Ace of Spades. And since the Sony deal makes it quite tricky * for the studio to include Spider-man project, the workaround they have come up with is to use the web slinger in animation. As they still have the full animation intact. And voila, we have for ourselves one of the most anticipated projects from the animation side of Marvel.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is Marvel’s own other world kind of story. While many still have the misconception that the series will connect to the mainline MCU, it is far from the truth. The project is more of an exploration of the original story of Peter Parker’s origin story set in the present.
But once again, this will not be the Tom Holland version of the character, nor is the British actor coming back to voice the character in this project. This is purely a piece of nostalgia, focusing on rebinding the new fans of Marvel to the deep lore and mythology of the most beloved character.
The series will thus include many experimental concepts, as the boundations of carrying the continuity are uplifted. The series will be set in the early years of Peter Parker being Spider-Man. Perhaps we will see supporting characters like Harry Osborne and Gwen Stacy yet again, but in a different medium. The title seems to have undergone a change, as the early title was “Spider Man: Freshmen Year.”
The art style looks very impressive, with a mix of 2D backgrounds with 3D character models. The latest look revealed the character in a makeshift suit, which looks very casual, hinting at the growth of Spiderman as a hero.
