What makes Musica stand out is that it doesn’t try to follow the conventional rom-com formula we’re all used to. At the same time, it doesn’t stray too far from it. It has its own unique look and style.
Mancuso has done one hell of a job on Musica. The direction, editing, acting performances, and cinematography all are on point. As for Mendes, she steals the show. She looks in fine form and delivers one of the best performances of her career. The chemistry between these two is just brilliant.
Musica follows Rudy, a young man plagued by synesthesia, a condition that constantly alters his concentration due to symphonies of everyday noises and sounds. As a result, he finds it difficult to balance his artistic pursuits, studies and relationships. His life takes a dramatic turn after he falls in love with Isabella (Mendes), who not only understands him but also encourages him to pursue his dream.
