Disney has officially lifted its review embargo on the upcoming MCU’s Agatha All Along Disney+ series, starring Kathryn Hahn as the titular witch. Some lucky critics have already watched the first four episodes of the show. As a result, they have started to share their honest reactions to the latest MCU project. Indian viewers will be able to watch the first two episodes on September 19 on Disney+ Hotstar, due to the time difference with the US.
The majority of the critics have praised Agatha All Along, hailing it as a perfect follow-up to WandaVision (2021). Many are singing praises about the series’ “batsh*t crazy” storyline. Hahn, in particular, has received acclaim from many for her return as the wicked but powerful protagonist. Also, many critics have fallen in love with Aubrey Plaza’s deadpan and snarky character, Rio Vidal. Heartstopper fame Joe Locke has been singled out by many critics for his “scene-stealing” performance in the latest MCU project.
The songs and scares in Agatha All Along have been used perfectly. Viewers should also expect plenty of good humour from the veteran Debra Jo Rupp.
However, not all reactions are positive. Some have pointed out the series’ slow pace, especially in the first two episodes. The series’ pace starts to escalate after the witches begin their journey on the witch’s road.
#AgathaAllAlong is the PERFECT show for the spooky season and filled with BIG WITCH ENERGY. Kathryn Hahn is iconic as ever and delivers a deliciously devious and spellbinding performance. Joe Locke is a scene stealer. This is the most fun you’ll have feasting on a show this year. pic.twitter.com/jieZUrWWIU

After four eps of #AgathaAllAlong, it's clear this #WandaVision spin-off keeps the mystery alive casting a new BEWITCHING spell. Kathryn Hahn is PERFECTION, embracing every wicked moment. The musical elements don’t just enhance—they ENCHANT. This is the MAGIC the #MCU needs. pic.twitter.com/ta9APo0ro4

#AgathaAllAlong is the perfect follow-up to WandaVision! 💜 The first 4 eps are a delightful mix of Hocus Pocus & The Wizard of Oz, with a hint of horror and loads of comedy.
This series is insanely fun and engaging. It’s got that same captivating vibe as WandaVision.
Absolutely… pic.twitter.com/CzBhW5QesI— Joseph Deckelmeier (@joedeckelmeier) September 17, 2024
#AgathaAllAlong starts slowly with the first two episodes, similar to Wandavision's start, but once the witches begin their journey on the witch's road, it begins to kick off.
It might not be as twisted as the marketing makes it out to be, but it's still creepy and eerie, with… pic.twitter.com/y7mKdLivvg

Agatha All Along is absolutely batsh*t crazy in all the right kinds of ways.
Kathryn Hahn is a force, camping it up as Agatha Harkness like we all knew she would. The rest of the cast is also divine, and Joe Locke is a gem.
Vivid, outlandish and brilliant. #AgathaAllAlong🔮 pic.twitter.com/UZFwaD1AXO

The first 4 #AgathaAllAlong eps are a strong sequel to WANDAVISION as they have their own identity.
The songs are great. Kathryn Hahn & Aubrey Plaza's dynamic is electric. Debra Jo Rupp brings the laughs, but this is the scariest MCU project to date.

Watched the first 4 episodes of #AgathaAllAlong. It's okay. After a fun start, it slows. It doesn't take itself or its characters seriously and neither should audiences. Joe Locke's mystery character is the only likeable one but has to play the Marvel mystery marketing gimmick… pic.twitter.com/agFTZaWCVE

#AgathaAllAlong is another fun trek into the MCU – the first four eps set up an interesting journey, but it's the cast's amazing chemistry that really carries the show. Kathryn Hahn is top notch, but it's Aubrey Plaza that steals the show. Down the witches road, we go! pic.twitter.com/rdejLxjYf9
