Gen V S2 Sets the Stage for The Boys’ Explosive Finale

By Binged Bureau - Jul 24, 2025 @ 02:07 pm
Gen V S2 Sets the Stage for The Boys’ Explosive Finale

We are less than two months away from getting Gen V Season 2 on Prime Video. The release window was revealed during the platform’s panel at CCXP Mexico, where the first teaser for the second season was also unveiled.

Season 2 will receive a three-episode premiere on September 17. From then on, new episodes will drop weekly, with the finale slated to premiere on October 22. So, fans of The Boys universe, mark your calendars!

The finale for Season 1 was jaw-dropping, bloody, and chaotic. Despite the madness unleashed at Godolkin University, it has been confirmed that the university’s classes will continue. Well, what can we say? This is the world of Supes, and people living in it just have to swallow as many bitter pills as they can to move on.

Gen V Season 1 concluded with a major cliffhanger, as Cate and Sam unleashed chaos at Godolkin University. After freeing the imprisoned Supes from The Woods, they led a violent rampage across campus. Marie and her allies nearly stopped them, but Homelander intervened, subduing Marie with a laser blast.

However, things went haywire for Marie and her friends. Soon, we find out that global news outlets hail Cate and Sam as the real protectors, while Marie, Jordan, Andre, and Emma are painted as the campus killers.

Showrunner Eric Kripke has also confirmed that the events of Gen V Season 2 take place right after The Boys Season 4. This means the second season could also set the stage for The Boys Season 5.

We all know how Homelander went completely berserk and out of control in The Boys Season 4—taking over the Oval Office, influencing the newly elected President, and playing a key role in pushing for martial law. At this point, it’s unclear whether Homelander will appear in Gen V Season 2. But he should, given how both shows ultimately revolve around the same centrepiece, none other than Homelander himself.

We could see Marie’s gang teaming up with The Boys to take down Homelander in The Boys Season 5, especially since the Gen V Season 2 teaser shows the new dean preparing her team members to push themselves and become more powerful than ever. With improved abilities and stronger powers, Marie’s gang could definitely prove useful to The Boys.

And yes, Homelander will do whatever it takes to destroy anything, or anyone, that stands in his way. We also saw him discover the location where Soldier Boy is being held in The Boys Season 4. Would he team up with him? Anything can happen, folks. Stay tuned for more updates.
