The DC Green lantern case just keeps getting names added to it as days pass by. While Josh Brolin denied the opportunity to take on the emerald suit, multiple other names were in consideration. But all of a sudden, a new name is picking pace in the race to be Hal Jordan.
Emmy Award-winning actor Kyle Chandler is being eyed to play the role of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the upcoming DCU project “Lanterns.” It is quite a change, as all the actors whose names were being considered, such as the like of Josh Brolin and Matthew McCaughey, were well into their 505, and Kyle, on the other hand, can still rock the part in a rather boyish charm.
Does this signify a change in the story? Earlier speculation was underway for “Lanterns” to be a buddy cop crime thriller drama. Many speculated that there could be a passing the torch moment between the two green lanterns, with Hal being the older one.
Is DCU finally settling for keeping the legendary character in their active universe for longer? It is still a rumor; however, it would be a new flavor added to the character. The last we saw of Hal Jordan was in that one movie, which no DC fan would like to talk about. Chandler is an amazing artist, known for his work on projects like Catch 22, Friday Night Lights, and Super pumped. It can be assumed that he will be a good addition to the story James Gunn is eyeing to portray.
