Fans have been excited with the news when the announcement came that there will be a new Karate Kid movie. What added to the fire was the news that Jackie Chan will be coming back to the film reprising his role.
Now the first poster of the movie has been revealed with the title and the release date is announced too. ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ will have its theatrical release on the 30th of May next year. Previously it was slated for release in December 2024. The movie will be acting as a sequel to both the original movie and the 2010 remake.
Jackie Chan is set to reprise his role as Mr. Han and actor Ralph Macchio from the original 1984 movie will also be joining him.
‘Karate Kid: Legends’ is directed by Jonathan Entwistle and the screenplay is from Rob Lieber. Young actor Ben Wang joins Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio In the movie and he will he the new underdog ‘karate kid’ student. Ralph Macchio played Daniel LaRusso in the 1984 movie and Jackie Chan played the role of Mr. Han, the trainer, in the remake with Jaden Smith. It is not clear how two of them will come together in the same movie. However, it will be interesting to see how it works out and fans are excited beyond measure to experience the whole new Karate Kid tale.
