Batman, The Dark Knight, is arguably the greatest pop culture icon. Definitely the most bankable character from DC, he has graced nearly every medium, whether it be comics, video games, animated movies, TV series, or live action. And now, after contributing so much to the modern media, the caped crusader will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The character connects millions of fans all over the world. Ever since his debut in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, Bruce Wayne has seen a number of roles in the DC universe. It was a no-brainer that the character was among the first to transition to the silver screen in the year 1943. After that, in 1966, Adam West donned the cowl and brought the comic character to life.
Later on, the character saw the transition to become the brooding crime fighter we know today when Keaton took over the role. Prior to this, legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy brought the character to life in the animated universe and the games. Christopher Nolan brought a new take, grounding the character in realism through Christian Bale. We saw Batman go against Superman with Afleck under the cowl, and now we have Pattinson elevating the character to new heights.
It’s only a matter of time before we have a new Batman for the James Gunn DCU. The fans are stoked to see their favorite vigilante getting a walk of fame star. This is definitely a win for the comic book movie community.
