Glenn Powell will soon be seen in the adaptation of the 1984 Stephen King novel “The Running Man.” The cast just got expanded with two brilliant names. Michael Cera and Emilia Jones have joined the cast of the dystopian movie set in the United States of America in 2025. While we all know Cera from his role as a hopeless romantic in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, this time Michael will be taking over the role of a naïve rebel against an overpowering TV program.
The movie follows the plot of the original novel. The story revolves around Glenn Powell’s character, who joins the most popular show, where the participants are hunted down, and as long as they survive, the more money they get. Will Powell be able to amass enough funds to help his ailing daughter while uncovering the dark secrets of the organization behind the program? That is to be seen.
The other cast members include Josh Brolin, who will take up the role of the man behind the operation. There is, of course, Emma Jones, who will play the role of a patron of the contest. There is also Katy O’Brian, who will play the role of the chief hunter.
Produced by Simon Kinberg and directed by Edgar White, the movie has a release date of November 21, 2025.
