If you guys recently finished watching the second part of That ’90s Show Season 2 and were hoping for a Season 3, we have some awful news for you. Actor Kurtwood Smith, who played the gruff, no-nonsense Red Forman, has confirmed that Netflix has pulled the plug on the sequel to That ’70s Show.
Smith gave the heartbreaking update via his recent Instagram post, revealing that the streamer has cancelled That 90s Show after two seasons.
“I know you have been asking me when season three is coming, but I have tough news…Netflix will not be renewing,” Smith confirmed.
Smith extended his gratitude to the original cast of That ’70s Show and all the guest stars, before concluding with a quote from Grandpa Forman.
“We aren’t going to be dumbasses…we will shop the show because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school,” Smith concluded the post’s caption with a couple of hashtags and a cheese emoji.
Season 1 premiered in January 2023, while Season 2 was released in two parts: Part 1 in June 2024 and Part 2 in August 2024.
Apart from Smith, the teen sitcom’s cast was filled with talents such as Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty Forman), Callie Haverda (Leia Forman), Ashley Aufderheide (Gwen Runck), Mace Coronel (Jay Kelso), Reyn Doi (Ozzie Takada), Sam Morelos (Nikki Velasco), and Maxwell Acee Donovan (Nate Runck).
Actors from That 70s Show, such as Laura Preppon, Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, and more also made cameo appearances in the sequel series.
