Prime Video’s Reacher franchise is set to expand with a spinoff based on Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley.
The streamer has officially ordered a Neagley spinoff from the Reacher universe. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, made the announcement at a recent Prime Video event in London.
Sten portrays Neagley in the original series, a close friend of the protagonist and a highly skilled corporate security professional who worked with Reacher in the U.S. Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.
According to the official synopsis, Neagley becomes hell-bent on seeking justice for a beloved friend from her past who is killed in a suspicious accident. Using the experience and skills she gained while working with Jack Reacher, she embarks on a path filled with dangerous obstacles to take down a menacing evil once and for all.
The original series’ creator, Nick Santora, will also develop the spinoff, with Nicholas Wootton serving as its writer. Both will co-executive produce the show, which is being produced by CBS Studios, Skydance Television, and Amazon MGM Studios.
Prime Video is yet to unveil a fixed release window for the Neagley spinoff.
As for Alan Ritchson’s Reacher, the show is currently in development on Season 3. The actor may also appear via a guest role in the Neagley spinoff. Stay tuned for more updates.
