We all know that Venom: The Last Dance is Tom Hardy’s final outing as the titular antihero. Yet, the actor still wishes to face off against Spider-Man in a future Marvel project. Sony’s SSU desperately needs stability to secure its future and move forward, especially given how the non-Venom entries have performed in the franchise. With the hype surrounding Venom 3, it seems the final solo Venom film might provide the stability the SSU needs.
Tom Hardy recently attended the New York Comic-Con, where he shared his desire to fight Spider-Man in a Marvel project, despite Venom 3 marking his final outing as Eddie Brock. According to rumours, either Eddie or his symbiote companion may die in The Last Dance. Despite this, Hardy believes that his path will cross with Peter Parker sometime in the future.
This is what he said:
“I would like to fight Spider-Man. I would like to fight him right now. In a movie, 100%. I would never say never.”
The odds of seeing a Spider-Man vs. Venom battle in a Marvel project again depend on how Venom 3 ends. If the above-mentioned rumours turn out to be true, it may not be possible for Hardy to fulfill his wish. However, things could still turn in his favor. Even if Sony manages to pit Hardy’s Venom against Spider-Man, the question remains: which version of the web-crawler will Venom encounter? Tom Holland’s version? Andrew Garfield’s? Or someone else entirely?
Many fans believe there should have been at least one proper fight between Spider-Man and Venom by now, given that Spider-Man has been part of the MCU since 2016, and Venom has had two solo movies and a brief appearance in the MCU before The Last Dance. Still, we can remain hopeful about their potential showdown, as there are plenty of ways these characters could meet. Venom 3 will be released early in India, on October 24. Stay tuned for more updates.
