Created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo is a unique and captivating character from the world of DC. He first appeared in Omega Men #3 (June 1983). An alien from the utopian planet Czarnia, he works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Lobo is known for his over-the-top violence and use of profanity, which sets him apart from many other DC heroes and villains. His distinctive appearance, with purple hair, crimson eyes, and biker-style attire, makes him easily recognisable.
Lobo is often categorised as an anti-hero, as he frequently breaks the law and operates outside traditional morality, yet he sometimes does the right thing, albeit for his own reasons. We can easily imagine Momoa playing Lobo in the forthcoming Supergirl movie, as his muscular build and imposing stature align well with Lobo’s comic book appearance. Given Momoa’s love for the character and his own real-life persona, fans have strongly supported him to play Lobo.
Jason Momoa playing Lobo is another perfect example of fan-casting done right. Lobo’s role as an intergalactic bounty hunter would allow Momoa to showcase a wider range of acting abilities than he could with Aquaman. We can expect great chemistry between him and Milly Alcock’s Supergirl. Let’s see what happens! Stay tuned for more updates.
