The critically acclaimed Indian drama directed by Payal Kapadia, which is her narrative directorial debut, “All We Imagine as Light”, is set to release in US theatres this fall.
This highly praised Indian movie got many feathers in its crown, because it won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, for November 15th in New York and Los Angeles.
But, the grand news about the movie is now, it is going to be released across major cities in India, titled “Prabhayay Ninachathellam” in Malayalam.
Kapadia, who is the first filmmaker who won the grand prix, is thrilled to have her movie released in India.
Being an Indian movie it wasn’t scheduled to release in India, it is set to release in the UK this fall but this turn of event took the whole team by shock, and it is a great opportunity for Kapadia to relate with her own audience.
This movie follows two female characters from Mumbai who are going through different difficulties in their life which is something Kapadia portrayed beautifully in her picture.
Now, Indian movies have this rich history and adaptability to evolve with time. We have seen different kinds of story telling with different aspects and approaches via different directors .
Kapadia’s take will surely serve as a treat to the new audience.
