Rumors of reshoots, alternate cuts, studio meddling, and divisive test results have all been part of the upcoming sci-fi Mickey 17’s lengthy and difficult path. For the third time since it concluded production in November 2022, the movie has been postponed.
Nearly a year after its initial theatrical release date of March 29, 2024, and three months after its prior release date of January 31, 2025, Warner Bros. has rescheduled the Robert Pattinson-led science fiction thriller for April 18, 2025.
The eagerly awaited follow-up film to Parasite is making fans wait making their expectations from the film even higher each time. Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, Naomi Ackie, and Steven Yeun are also featured in the movie.
The story revolves around an employee Mickey Barnes played by Robert Pattinson. Mickey is a throwaway worker on a mission to settle an icy planet, in Mickey 17, which is based on Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel Mickey7.
In the book, Mickey must go on risky missions for work, and when he passes away, a perfect replica of himself with most of his memories preserved takes his place.
As the film promises to have a new concept, people are excited to see Pattinson in a never-before-seen avatar. As the date is locked up for April 2025, the film would certainly have a lot of time to strengthen their promotional game and marketing. Only time will tell how the much-awaited product will be taken by the audiences and critics.
