The movie tells the story of a Russian teenager who is pregnant with a child in London. Tatiana, the girl dies while giving birth to her baby. And now the midwife, who is also Russian, takes it to herself to find Tatiana’s family and give the baby to them. But her journey does not go as planned and she has to go through many difficulties in her journey.
The movie is directed by David Cronenberg who is known for films like ‘A History of Violence’, ‘Videodrome’, and ‘Spider’. The screenplay comes from Stephen Knight. ‘Eastern Promises’ stars actors like Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts, Vincent Cassel, Armin Mueller-Stahl and many others and it is loaded with wonderful performances.
The visuals of the movie are extraordinary and all the credit goes to cinematographer Peter Suschitzky. The music is given by Howard Shore.
