As Netflix streamed one of the biggest sporting events in the history of live streaming, it cemented its dominance at the top by claiming huge viewership numbers after the event.
As the fight created a lot of controversies due to the result and overall execution, the viewers also complained about the poor streaming of the fight by Netflix. The OTT giant was unable to handle such traffic which made their servers go weak dishing out buffering issues consistently for viewers.
More than 85,000 users issued complaints during the event for this unfortunate string of errors. Angered by such service from a top global OTT giant, Ronald “Blue” Denton, a man from Florida filed a $50 million Lawsuit against the platform.
The lawsuit also covered how these problems have been a part of Netflix for so long and they should have prepared for such a huge number of viewers beforehand.
As Netflix aims to stream WWE and NFL in the future, this lawsuit might harm their reputation and integrity. As the platform continues to have such trolls and incidents after their recent mishap, it remains to be seen how the platform bounces back ahead of WWE Live streaming.
