Online gaming shows often look exciting and perfect on screen, but the behind-the-scenes can be very different. The difficult conditions and problems faced by contestants are usually kept hidden, thanks to contracts and non-disclosure agreements that prevent these details from getting out.
Mr.Beast shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) following the release of a teaser for his new show Beast Games, which is set to premiere on Prime Video on December 19. A viewer asked if this was the same show where many contestants had complained about poor conditions. Mr.Beast replied that they have lots of behind-the-scenes content to show how exaggerated these claims were, but they can’t release it yet because it would spoil the games.
Several contestants had shared stories about bad food, lack of medical care, and injuries from physical challenges. There were also accusations of sexual harassment, and some players had to be hospitalized.
Beast Games is a 10-episode series with 1,000 players competing for a $5 million prize by breaking world records and completing tough challenges. The show may sound amazing and fun, but as the game unfolds, we will only know about the reality behind the scenes which doesn’t usually surface.
Here's a little teaser for Beast Games! I spent over a year creating this 10 episode competition series, breaking 40 world records, building the craziest sets in entertainment history, featuring 1,000 players, and a $5,000,000 grand prize! I poured everything I have into this… pic.twitter.com/cjStGESIcn
