Korean dramas are often known for being all adorable, romantic and make you blush but if you thought it’s just that then you are absolutely missing out on some other more dark and thrilling stuff that the Korean entertainment industry offers.
Our recommendation for the day is a revenge psychological thriller on Netflix that will leave you thinking whether revenge can ever truly bring peace. We are talking about ‘The Glory’, a two part series written by Kim Eun-sook (‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’) and directed by Ahn Gil-ho (‘Stranger’).
‘The Glory’ follows a woman named Moon Dong-eun, a former victim of school violence. Instead of moving on, she dedicates her whole life to seek revenge from her bullies and to do so she takes up a job as a homeroom teacher at the elementary school of the bully leader’s child.
‘The Glory’ is just phenomenal at keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout. There is a sense of horror combined with melodrama and a murder mystery. Song Hye-kyo who plays the role of Moon Dong-eun has been praised for her nuanced performance and has also received various accolades for it. If you are looking for something intense and thrilling to watch, ‘The Glory’ should definitely be on your watchlist.
