Tenant is, on November 22, 2024, an intense psychological study on issues of trust and fear and is much more than crime fiction. Directed by Sridhar Shastri, the film sets its characters in an environment that is claustrophobic and hermetically sealed within which their anxieties and insecurities are going to escalate to the lightest flicker.
It makes the house a real protagonist in this film by Sonu Gowda, Ugram Manju, and Dharma Keerthi Raj, thereby heightening the suspense. Manohar Joshi’s cinematography and Girish Hothur’s composition evoke an oppressive environment, reflecting the mental collapses of the tenants.
The film presents as to how vulnerabilities are exposed from externals like lockdowns. The storyline is fueled by the mistrusts and the anxieties of the tenants as they are pushed to the edge, which makes the true danger psychological in nature, rather than physical.
Tenant questions our notions of terror and how people act when pushed to their limit. It is a very powerful consideration of loneliness, trust, and the human mind in this film-a very powerful and provocative experience
