In the Jithin Laal-directed film Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which did well in theaters, Tovino Thomas displayed his violent yet classy performances which were loved by the audiences. He plays three characters: Kelu, Maniyan, and Ajayan. The film centers on a small village that is determined to protect a sacred idol.
Within weeks of its theatrical debut, the film crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone. The film will now be available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar on November 8. What’s interesting to note is that the film has been minting a lot of money with its regional box office hold, but the same cannot be said for its Hindi release.
The film made a staggering 60 crores in the Malayalam belt but looked pale in its Hindi release with only 8 lakhs(approx.) in two weeks. The film was highly praised for Tovino’s performance and his superb hold with three different characters.
In addition to Tovino, ARM has a strong cast that includes Pramod Shetty, Kabir Duhan Singh, Krithi Shetty, and Basil Joseph. The distinct charm of each performer adds to the captivating plot of the movie. The main focus of the makers would be to reach the Hindi viewership as the film has great potential and would attract a lot of viewers from the North region.
Hotstar plays a huge role here as the OTT platform is one of the country’s leading providers with millions of users. If ARM gets a sudden boost soon after its digital release, it would take no time for it to make it to the top 10 list given the number of users Hotstar has. With a wider audience and infinite potential, ARM might flip the coin its way with its much-awaited Hotstar release.
As it is set for a digital release tomorrow, only time will tell if ARM flips the coin the way it wants and impacts the Hindi as well as other language viewers as the film will be releasing in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.
