The Malayalam film is undergoing a dull phase in its recent box office, and where Tamil movie ‘Vettaiyan’ is only a relief despite its comparatively lower audience input. There are one or two movies for namesake but moving tediously.
Also, the same situation is being faced by Bollywood with its recent filmography having below-average responses and drowning by depleting box office hope. However, this upcoming Malayalam flick has the potential to captivate the audience for its expectations in craft and commercial aspects, which can break the industrial boundaries.
‘Bougainvillea’ is expected to be a kickass action thriller film directed by Amal Neerad and produced by Kunchako Boban for Udaya Pictures as well as Jyothirmayi for Amal Neerad Productions. The screenplay will be penned by Lajo Jose along with the director. Dialogues for the flick are written by RJ Murugan.
However, the screenwriter has confirmed on his social media page that the speculation that the script is an adaptation of his own Malayalam novel ‘Ruthinte Lokam’ (Eng. The World of Ruth) is not true and the flick tells an entirely different story.
The technical labour is the pack of a brilliant team which includes Anand C Chandren as the cinematographer, Vivek Harshan overseeing the editing, along Sushin Shyam composing the music and background scores for the flick. The director’s previous film ‘Bheeshma Parvam’ was a sleeper hit with actor Mammooty performing the main lead, having the same technical team.
The flick is expected to have a pure reference to Quentin Tarantino’s action movies as suggested by its glimpse teaser which may involve gore and gritty violence. Also, the director’s filmography is popular for bringing a trend in the blend of updated narrative as well as retrospective frames to the screen.
Subsequently, the presentation of actors with style and swag is the trademark of the director for what he is popular with. The unabashed and unusual effort in creating the brilliance of frames and locations is its tasty attribute.
On the contrary, the promotional aspect seems marginal with lesser ground-level promotions even though the movie follows the conventional Amal Neerad pattern, who believes that the movie should speak, not its crew.
Fortunately, the presence of an actor like Fahadh Faasil, who will be doing an extended cameo in the role of a police officer named ACP David Koshy IPS, will be the greatest asset for the movie business that can be a wider recognition for these audiences due to his popularity based on movies like the Pushpa Franchise, Vikram, the recent Vettaiyan, etc.
The movie features an ensemble cast of actors Kunchako Boban, Jyothirmayi, Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda who are expected to give exemplary which is an important attribute of the flick.
The movie is expected to screen on the 17th of October which will have a worldwide theatrical release.
