Another cop investigation flick for the Malayalam industry, ‘Oru Anweshanathinte Thudakam’ or ‘OAT’ is been released today on the big screens, and audience intake during the first show is satisfactory. How is its reception? What will be its impact on the box office?
‘Oru Anweshanathinte Thudakkam’ (Eng. Beginning of A Pursuit) is expected to be a crime investigation thriller film written and directed by M.A Nishad. The film will be bankrolled by K V Abdul Nazar under the banner of Benzy Productions.
As per the official teaser and trailer, the content repetition and comparison with well-acclaimed movies with the same background are its greatest challenges. Could it break such a stereotype?
According to the credible responses, the movie is very conventional despite having an ensemble cast of young along with versatile veteran actors, which brings a tiresome experience due to its duration which is around three hours and consistent lag as well as a weak screenplay.
Furthermore, no remarkable or distinctive elements are seen for this movie as a plethora of such genres with profound works are present in this year’s Mollywood filmography.
Technical labour like editing by John Kutty and cinematography by Vivekh Menon is an average and below average background score by M Jayachandran.
Another exciting fact is that this movie will be actor Vani Vishwanath’s comeback after years of hiatus, and hoped her feat to be noteworthy. Unfortunately, the audience who aimed to see the actor’s performance didn’t get a chance as she had less relevance and screen time throughout the film.
The movie features actors Shine Tom Chacko, M A Nishad, Durga Krishna, Swasika, Sshivada, Manju Pillai, Samuthirakani, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Baiju Santhosh, Prasanth Alex, and other veteran actors playing important roles.
In a nutshell, the movie is not expected to make a wave at the industrial box office and is not seen to become a commercial win for the effort.
