The reception of movies or web series is profound in today’s context, which has acquired the ability to break the shackles of industrial boundaries. But is the audience always able to explore what they want to watch?
The situation in lack of propagation is a serious issue in knowing the smaller projects despite being driven by high content value. What could be its reason? What can be the consequences of such negligence?
‘Jai Mahendran’ is expected to be a comedy-satirical drama web series directed by Srikanth Mohan, it talks about the character Mahendran, who is a deputy tahsildar in the Government of Kerala which is fictional and will make the audience travel with him for the world that he perceives.
This might have the storyline of a person, who has some power in the system, trying to misuse its value by being lazy and careless which may be a representation of some officials.
Following the promo teasers released at the beginning of the year, various issues regarding the story idea and post-production works were limiting the effort to get released.
However, within a few days of its release, the promotional factor seems to be very weak as no major attributes for a significant selling point are found for the project. Also, the number of languages to which it is going to stream feels absurd as less marketing for the promotion is visible.
On the contrary, the ground-level promotion of today’s released ‘Manvat Murders’, which is a Marathi crime thriller web series directed by Ashish Avinash Bende has considerably given attention to a wider viewer circle albeit its compulsion in specialized narrative.
Surprisingly, both series are going to be streamed by the Sony LIV platform. The story idea of ‘Jai Mahendran’ has the potential to captivate a wider audience despite its negligence in the proximity.
The series is expected to be released on the 11th of this month and the effort is available in languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Hindi.
