The versatility of concept design in driving the Malayalam film industry is making a remarkable stance despite its smaller scale and space. The novelty in approach, especially in its narrative makes the audience interested in further looking up the developments of its industry. ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’ is an upcoming sports-action film directed by Khalid Rahman who is popular for his versatile number of movies for its genre and storytelling. All of them were well received by critics and became a commercial success.
This upcoming effort is entirely a different perspective from his angle despite making an action movie named ‘Thallumala’ that only congruences with its sub-genre.
This movie is entirely expected to be an out-and-out boxing film that might remind of the popular ‘Fight Club’, which will be a new approach to Malayalam cinema.
Subsequently, the stellar and distinct performances of actors like Naslen and Lukman Avaran, who are the main leads for the movie, can be witnessed who are expected to showcase a new Avatar by both mental and physical means. At the same time, another sport-action drama named ‘Daveed: Story of a Fighter’ is also on board which is co-written and directed by debutant Govind Vishnu, where producers Century Max John, Mary Productions LLP, Panorama Studios, Aby Alex Abraham, and Tom Joseph will be bankrolling the movie.
The technical labour includes handling of cinematography by Salu K Thomas, editing overseen by Rakesh Cherumadam, and music composed by Justin Vargheese respectively.
Actor Antony Vargheese Pepe is expected to play the lead role who is assumed to take up the role of a boxer named Ashiq Abu and the storytelling is hopefully based on the character-driven narrative. The details of the other cast are to be enlisted soon.
