Love stories are considered classics when they tie the audience so hard that they give them a profound moment in their purest form of emotion. Such efforts in Malayalam cinema were lucky during the period of the 90s and present movies take huge gratitude and inspiration from this movie.
Binged would like to suggest such a movie which is the best example of spending a valuable weekend.
‘Shyama’ is a 1986 Malayalam romantic drama film directed by Joshi and written by Dennis Joseph. Joy Thomas for Jubilee Productions bankrolled the film. The screenplay’s plot is based on Gulzar’s classic ‘Kinnara’.
The movie has a different flavour of blending love stories from a progression of depression, loneliness, loss, conflict, and surprises faced by characters named Shyama and Vishwanathan.
Though the narrative supports the viewpoints of the character Shyama, the storytelling is more plot-based, intricate, and hooking.
Actors Mammooty and Nadiya Moidu are playing the main leads alongside actors Lalu Alex, K P Ummer, Mukesh (cameo), and Sumalatha (cameo) where technical labour includes the handling of cinematography by Jayan Vincent, editing overseen by A R Basha, and music as well as the background scores are composed by Raghukumar and Shyam respectively.
The movie is streaming on the Jio Cinema as well as the YouTube platform and stay tuned in Binged for more updates.
