After a successful run in theatres, Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 is now ready for its digital premiere. The much-awaited thriller will begin streaming on Prime Video from June 18, giving audiences another chance to revisit Georgekutty’s story.
The film will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. However, viewers looking for a Hindi version will have to wait longer. Unlike many South Indian releases that arrive on streaming platforms with Hindi dubbing, Drishyam 3 will not be released in Hindi on Prime Video.
The reason is simple. The Hindi adaptation of the franchise, headlined by Ajay Devgn, is expected to continue the story separately. As a result, the makers are keeping the Hindi market reserved for the Bollywood version rather than releasing a dubbed version of Mohanlal’s film.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 marks the return of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated thriller franchises. The series began in 2013 with Drishyam and quickly became a phenomenon because of its gripping story and unexpected twists. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Georgekutty turned the character into a fan favourite, while the film inspired remakes in several languages across India.
The third instalment continues the journey of Georgekutty and his family, but it could not maintain the same level of thrill that we got from the first two films The film also performed well at the box office, proving that interest in the franchise remains as high as ever.
With its arrival on Prime Video, Drishyam 3 is expected to reach an even wider audience. Fans who missed the film in theatres can now catch up with the latest chapter of Georgekutty’s story when it starts streaming on June 18.
