Disney+ Hotstar dropped the trailer of its upcoming Hotstar special, “1962: The War In The Hills” and it is nothing less than extraordinary. The webseries will be streaming all its episodes on Disney+ Hotstar and will be released on the 26th of February. Disney+ Hotstar earlier dropped the teaser for the same, this year on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day. The web-series will be starring Abhay Deol in the lead role and is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
The web-series is based on real-life incidents that took place back in 1962 when India and China declared war against each other. This was a war that affected the Himalayan belt of India, including Ladakh and the North Eastern States of India. Though there have been many stories that the world came to know about, the web-series will be focusing on one particular untold story of courage and valour.
The story revolves around a major and his team of 125 soldiers that were deployed in the army and were ready to fight the Chinese army. This battle saw the war between 125 Indian soldiers against 3000 Chinese soldiers. The web-series tells us how this all began and the bravery of the soldiers that took on this endearing task of not allowing the Chinese cross the Indian border at any cost.
The web-series stars Abhay Deol in the lead, along with Sumeet Vyas, Annup Sonni, Rohan Gandotra, Rochelle Rao, Mahie Gill playing pivotal roles. The web-series will showcase some great action scenes and will also tell the hardships the Indian army went through at that time, when it didn’t have enough equipment to keep themselves safe. The Indian army fought enemies during that time, one being the Chinese soldiers and the other being the harsh climate of the hills that Indians are not at all used to.
Even after so many odds against these 125 men, the bravery is something they will always be remembered for. In the light of the last year’s events between Indian and Chinese troops that took place at the Galwan Valley, across the LAC in Ladakh, this series will be the perfect choice for someone to revisit and know about what actually went down back in 1962.
