2 Differences Between Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop Live Action & Anime

As many of you guys may already know, the live-action adaptation of the brilliant anime series, ‘Cowboy Bebop’, is making its way to us in a couple of weeks and the show is dropping on Netflix. The trailer for the new show dropped a few days ago, on Netflix’s official YouTube channel… And the response has been immensely popular so far. Many have noted the similarities between the anime and live-action already – but many have still been slow in noticing the difference between the two shows. So, in this article, here are the two noticeable differences between the live-action and anime versions of ‘Cowboy Bebop’:

Seasons
The creator of the manga book series ‘Cowboy Bebop’ was very adamant that his story will have a definite end – not wanting the anime series to drag out like ‘Star Wars’. So the entire anime series was made in 1 season with a total of 26 episodes. While the live-action series currently only shows one season – there are only ten episodes in this season. So this either means that the entire anime series has been compressed or we are getting another series of this show, later down the line.

Three Vs Five
The anime has some epic characters, but it primarily focuses on five main characters – Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Edward Wong and Ein. And the animated series was advertised as such. However, in the live-action version, we are only given a “trio” of Spike, Jet & Faye. Sure, the other two could make it onto the show, but they have not been advertised or added to posters as of yet, so we do not know if Edward will make it onto the show (Ein is featured in the trailer).

The anime version of ‘Cowboy Bebop’ is currently available for streaming on Netflix. The live-action version will premiere on the same OTT platform on November 19th 2021.
