OTT viewers never had it so good! The streaming calendar for this Friday, that is 17th September, is stacked high with mouth-watering releases, both shows and movies. An eye-popping number of titles – 25 in all – are arriving on various streaming platforms, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, Voot Select, Aha Video, Hoichoi, among others.

Ankahi Kahaniya – Hindi Anthology Film
An anthology of three short films that cast a spotlight on love, loss and longing in the chaos that is Mumbai. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Saket Chaudhary and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Chicago Party Aunt – adult animation series
The sitcom style animated series is centred on Diane Dunbrowski (voiced by Lauren Ash), a middle-aged part-time hairdresser and full-time party animal, and her hilarious antics.
The Father Who Moves Mountains – Romanian-Finnish Film, subtitled in English
A retired army officer’s son is trapped in the treacherous snow-covered mountains, and he must risk everything to find his son before he freezes to death or is buried in an avalanche
Squid Game – Korean Thriller Drama Series
Unknowing participants get into a games competition that seems harmless at first, but reveals dangerous and deadly stakes.
The Stronghold – French action adventure film
Netflix grabbed this hotly-anticipated French action thriller from director Cédric Jimenez at Cannes 2021. Three Marseille cops get a chance to bust a major drug network, but with extreme and morally ambiguous means.

Maestro – Telugu film
The Telugu remake of Andhadun, starring Nithiin, Tamannaah Bhatia and Nabha Natesh in primary roles. Nithiin plays the blind piano player who stumbles upon a murder and gets embroiled in the criminal agenda of the kingpin.
Annabelle Sethupathi – Tamil film
Taapsee Pannu plays a petty burglar who breaks into a palace with the intention of burglary. Unbeknownst to her, the palace shelters a band of ghosts, and a long-buried secret about its owner, Annabelle Sethupathi. Also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu, among others.
Unheard – Telugu series
A different take on the freedom struggle, told from the perspective of unknown people and their unheard tales. Directed by Aditya KV and produced by Ellanar Films, and starring Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarshi, Chandani Chowdary, Baladitya and Ajay.

Puaada – Punjabi film
A romantic comedy film, directed by Rupinder Chahal and Starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa. A simple dairy-farm owner in a Punjabi village falls in love with an an air-force officer’s daughter, and who must impress her finicky father to win the hand of the girl he loves.
Samantaral – Bengali psychological drama film
Samantaral is a psychological drama, starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Riddhi Sen. A young man visits his maternal uncle’s house for a get-together with his extended family. There he comes across his other, apparently mentally ill uncle Sujan, which is when he realises that something is not quite right in his family.

Kaanekkaane – Malayalam film
A thriller film, written by Bobby and Sanjay, and directed by Manu Ashokan. It stars Tovino Thomas, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Shruti Ramachandran in pivotal roles.
Priyuralu – Telugu film
Priyuralu stars Prudhvi Medavaram, Kaushik Reddy, Kalpala Mounika, and Kamakshi Bhaskar in pivotal roles, and is directed by Rama Raju. It centres on an extra-marital affair and its effect on the marriage.
