After 26 years, the iconic Ace Ventura is returning. Yes, you read that right, Ace Ventura, the character played by Jim Carrey is coming with its 3rd after all this year. This was revealed by the franchise’s production company Morgan Creek Entertainment in a recent interview. The movie is being developed right now by the production company and also Amazon Studios. The sequel will be coming to Amazon Prime Video as a major motion picture.
Though nothing else has been disclosed, it has been said that the third part of Ace Ventura was always in the books, even though it wasn’t clearly talked about earlier. Officials from the production company have mentioned it was the time during the worldwide lockdown and pandemic was when they clearly started discussing it, as fans kept returning to the characters and it looked even now this iconic movie is receiving the love.
1994 was the year “Ace Ventura: Pet Doctor” released along with Jim Carrey’s other movies like “Dumb and Dumber” and “Mask”. All 3 of them made Jim Carrey a comedic legend, whose movies are loved even now. It was a year later that the sequel of Ace Ventura arrived titled “Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls”. Since then, there has been no other news of any more movies from the franchise.
With the latest Ace Ventura movie, as nothing is clear about what will go on in the movie, fans are speculating many things. It is being said that it might be a reboot like how the “Jumanji” has been done. While others say, this is a direct sequel of the last movie. Also, it is not clear as to who they have in mind for the upcoming movie.
The movie right now has writers working on it and it is being told that the writers of Sonic the Hedgehog, Pat Casey and Josh Miller are on board for this movie. Also, it is not looking or stating any kind of release dates for now. It would be interesting to see how they pull off a sequel that comes out after 26 years of its original one’s release.
