Movie halls and theatres are finally opening up, not everywhere maybe but definitely in most places. The movie halls and theatres suffered a huge loss with the first wave of Covid-19 and just when things started to get back to normal, it fell apart again. The recovery wasn’t enough and the 2nd wave hit it stronger, but now thankfully everything is slightly going towards normalcy. Not only are Indian movies rescheduling the release date for theatrical release, but now Hollywood movies too have arrived.
The last proper Hollywood fans could enjoy in the halls was when there was a gap between the first and second waves, this is when Tenet released and enjoyed decent success, given the fact that it was released with 50% occupancy in the theatres. Now, we have an array of movies coming in and everyone is excited. Out of all these, the most recent announcement that has come in is the release of Dev Patel’s much appreciated movie “Green Knight”.
Dev Patel’s Green Knight is all set to release in theatres on the 27th of August. The movie will be released in PVR cinema halls. Dev Patel’s Green Knight has received some rave reviews and many have called it a visual extravaganza. The movie is based on one of the most famous King Arthur legends. Dev Patel plays the role of Gawain, King Arthur’s nephew and a knight who is out on the search for the Green Knight. As the reports say, the legend is a refurbished one, as the characters don’t really have the same backgrounds as the original one.
The movie definitely is one to look out for and seems pretty exciting. But this is not the only movie releasing on the 27th of August. The other movie as of now that is set for 27th August release is the animated movie, “The Croods: A New Age”, it is the sequel to the hit 2013 animated film, “The Croods”. Besides that there is also the Bob Odenkirk led movie “Nobody”. Apart from this, there is Disney’s “Cruella” starring Emma Stone to be released on Disney+ Hotstar.
So, we have three Hollywood movies going up against each other in the box office, while we have Cruella on our home screens. The fight is intense and exciting. The Hollywood movies releasing in India at the moment are some pretty intense ones in itself. Infact, they are the ones to bring in viewers in the after the second wave with one of the first movies to be released, which is “The Mortal Kombat”.
So, we now know that August 27 is all loaded with Hollywood movies and fans will be ready for some pretty good ones. Now, again all of it depends on which movie will be able to pull people to the screens and how many audiences. All this can be answered after the 27th but for now we are excited and we know you are too.
