OTT has been moving ahead at a slow pace. There are not many releases, and there are hardly any big releases. Take last week. There were hardly any big releases, and it truly affects the experience of a person who is paying nearly ₹500 per month to purchase multiple streaming services.
Anyway, there are 4 major titles that you must keep an eye on this week. They are not something truly grand, but they are a sort of relief from the OTT drought.
Juror 2
Everyone knows the filmmaking style of Clint Eastwood and he also has a great following. Nicholas Hoult stars as a journalist who is a recovering alcoholic.
The movie has a fair dose of drama and more than anything it will be a highly entertaining thing to watch this week.
It will start streaming from tomorrow on JioHotstar.
Chamak: The Conclusion
The first part of Chamak came sometime last year and after that, it went away in limbo. There was no update whatsoever for a long time and finally, the second part is here. On April 4th it will be released on SonyLIV.
It is nowhere near a perfect series but let’s be honest, the drama element and even the music were kinda nice. The alternative history to Chamkila is something very intriguing even after Imtiaz Ali’s film.
Test
Netflix India is finally taking baby steps in making originals in the South of India. While other platforms are far ahead, Netflix is coming up with a Tamil movie starring Nayanthara, R Madhavan and Siddharth. All of them are prominent stars and having them together would bring significant buzz to the movie. However, this is half done as the quality of the movie will determine everything else.
The movie also releases on April 4th.
Karma
Netflix is bringing a show based on the Indian philosophy of Karma. Wait, it is not an Indian show but a Korean drama.
The series talks about a group of people whose actions have trapped them in the lives of each other and this phenomenon is affecting everyone. The six people include a physician, debt drowned man, accidents and other things that look like common life through a focused lens.
The series is also hitting Netflix on April 4th.
