Road to Perdition, 2002 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Directed by Sam Mendes, the period crime drama movie follows a hitman (Tom Hanks) who works for an Irish mobster (Paul Newman) and with whom he shares a cordial relationship. But after his family is killed, he runs away with his son and decides to avenge the deaths from the person responsible – the mobster’s son (Daniel Craig).
Ek Hasina Thi, 2004 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Lionsgate Play)
Sriram Raghavan’s romantic thriller featured Urmila Matondkar as a regular Mumbai-based working woman, who falls in love with a debonair businessman played by Saif Ali Khan. But soon, romance takes a backseat when she is falsely accused of a crime she did not commit. Her personality undergoes a drastic change, and she decides to deliver brutal justice to her former lover.
Taken, 2008 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
Directed by French filmmaker Pierre Morel, the movie features Liam Neeson as an ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills, who is suddenly forced out of retirement after his daughter is kidnapped in Paris by a dangerous human trafficking gang. Now the father must race against time and use his very particular set of skills to track the kidnappers and retrieve his daughter.
Wrath Of Man, 2021 (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by Guy Ritchie, the film follows a mysterious man named H (played by Jason Statham), who is recruited as a seemingly regular cash truck driver at a high-profile security company in LA. But when he single-handedly eliminates multiple armed robbers during an attempted heist, the ruthless incident alludes to his real motives and his dark and violent past.
V For Vendetta, 2006 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video – Rent)
The movie has been directed by James McTeigue and written by the Wachowskis (Matrix directors). The film’s story is set in a dystopian future and follows a masked freedom fighter with superhuman abilities ‘V’ (Hugo Weaving), who takes a working-class woman (Natalie Portman) under his wing. His mission is to ignite a revolution against British tyranny.
