Well guys, it’s Christmas – so you know what that means – another list which features to watch during Christmas (and possibly all the way to New Year). Last year, we gave a list of 7 Malayalam movies to watch out during Christmas; so this year, let’s make a new list which only features films from this year, 2021. So without wasting any more time, here are 5 Malayalam Movies from 2021 to check out today (and the rest of the holidays):
Kaanekkaane
While most festivals and holidays are a chance to watch some old school Malayalam movies or some feel-good films – a thriller drama might be a little out there to be included in this list. However, when everything is said and done – this movie actually becomes a feel-good feature by the very end. Check out the film on SonyLIV.
Kurup
Blockbusters, especially Malayalam blockbusters, appear on TV regularly. While ‘Kurup‘ didn’t do that well with critics, audiences loved this theatrically released film and we are sure that this new Netflix streaming feature will be popular during Christmas as well.

Feel-good movies are the name of the game, especially for Christmas, and one doesn’t need to look any further than #Home. This direct-to-OTT released feature is a beautiful family film and it should be great for some Christmas viewing. This film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Madhuram
This film was only released the day before yesterday, but it is a perfectly good feel-good film that will work well as a Christmas film. This SonyLIV premiered Malayalam movie is also a romantic drama, so it is perfect for couples as well.
Minnal Murali
This one-day-old movie has exceeded expectations and will likely be a staple film in Christmases to come. Check out the first-ever Malayalam superhero film on Netflix.
