5 Mindbending Sci-Fi Shows To Watch If You Liked 3-Body Problem

Netflix’s ‘Three Body Problem’, aka stylised as 3-Body Problem, premiered on the streaming giant this week. Ever since, it has stirred up a storm on social media. Almost everyone who’s watched or is watching the show has been raving about it on X, etc.

For those who don’t know, Netflix’s Three-Body Problem is a sci-fi show that comes from Game Of Thrones showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The story is said to be more epic than Game Of Thrones, more mind-bending than Dark, and more thrilling than Westworld. The narrative spans several generations, and over 450 years, with time jumps and alternate universes adding to the intrigue.

Benedict Wong (Dr Strange) and Tsai Chin (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), GoT alumni John Bradley and Liam Cunningham lead the cast of Three-Body Problem. The series is currently trending on Netflix in almost countries of the world.

If you’ve watched and liked Three-Body Problem on Netflix, and are looking to watch more mind-bending shows like it when we’ve got you a short list of 5 such shows that you might like.

Here goes –
1. Dark – Streaming on Netflix
Any list of mind-bending shows cannot afford to miss out ‘Dark’, the German language series that streams on Netflix. Dark is a science fiction fantasy adventure that deals with time travel and multiple universes. The story of Dark criss-crosses between the past and the future, from the present times to the past in 1986, and the future in 2052. When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town’s troubled history — whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986.

2. Russian Doll – Streaming on Netflix
A time loop show, Russian Doll centres on a coder, a woman who’s stuck in a weird loop wherein she repeatedly attends a party on her 36th birthday, dies at the end of the night, but wakes up unharmed the next day, only to have the same events play out on loop. Natasha Lyonne has created the show, and also stars in it, along with Annie Murphy in Russian Doll Season 2. The series is not as grave as the other shows in this list, but a dark comedy with a compelling premise.

The series follows the events in the aftermath of a stunning phenomenon called the “Sudden Departure”, that caused 2% of the population to disappear forever. The leftovers in the title refers to the ones that were left behind, and how they cope with the disappearance of their loved ones. The series stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, among others.

4. Severance – Streaming on Apple TV Plus

It boasts a sophisticated plot centred on a team of office workers who agree to a “severance” program, by which their memories are surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When one of the employees of the company Mark S. (Adam Scott) realises that something is terribly wrong, he embarks on a mission to uncover the truth about their jobs. Severance stars Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette, among others.
