5 Must-Watch ‘Black Mirror’ Episodes Before S6 Arrives On Netflix

The highly anticipated sixth season of the widely acclaimed ‘Black Mirror’ series is all set to arrive on Netflix on 15th June. ‘Black Mirror’ is a science fiction anthology television series where every episode is presented as a standalone story that is mostly set in the near future or an alternative reality. Each episode focuses on the various technologies we casually use today for the sake of convenience/entertainment etc.

Before ‘Black Mirror Season-6’ starts streaming on Netflix, we recommend you watch these five must-watch episodes. We have shortlisted one episode each from all the five seasons spanning 22 episodes.

1. The Entire History of You (Season 1; Episode 3)

The story is set in a possible future that can enable a chip implant inside the brain, through which all the person’s actions can be recorded and replayed anytime. The technology starts to interfere with a contented married couple, when the husband begins to suspect that his wife is cheating on him. To what extent he goes to use the chip implant technology, irrespective of the consequences, forms the rest of the story.

2. White Christmas (Season 2; Episode 4)

Set inside an isolated cabin during Christmas Day, the episode revolves around three interconnected stories narrated by two main characters Matt (Jon Hamm) and Joe (Rafe Spall). The stories range from how a man tries to seduce a woman during a party, to a digital cloning story, to a man who is obsessed with his former lover after they part ways.

3. Hated in the Nation (Season 3; Episode 6)

This one is the longest and arguably the most engaging episode across all seasons of ‘Black Mirror’. Based in London, the story revolves around two police detectives who are on the trail of a mastermind killer responsible for murdering subjects of social media hatred, by way of manipulating the insect drones.

4. Hang the DJ (Season 4; Episode 4)

The story follows a potential couple named Frank and Amy who are paired by an advanced dating program which sets expiry dates on relationships in order to find the perfect match for its users. The duo part ways but reunite later. But are they really made for each other, and can the dating app decide that? Watch out for the episode’s ending: it will surely catch you off-guard.

5. Smithereens (Season 5; Episode 2)

This ‘Black Mirror’ episode tells the story of a mysterious cab driver, who kidnaps an intern working at the big shot social media company Smithereen. He does not want any ransom or to harm anyone but later reveals his weird demand – to talk to the company’s CEO for a very personal reason. Will he get what he wants?
