The Terminal, 2004 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Steven Spielberg, the comedy drama movie features Tom Hanks in the role of Viktor, a friendly Eastern European tourist who gets stuck at the JFK airport in New York because of a military situation in his country. He learns the tricks of the trade at the airport, makes many friends, and falls in love with a pretty flight attendant (Catherine Zeta Jones).
A Walk to Remember, 2002 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Based on Nicholas Sparks’ 1999 novel of the same name, the romantic drama movie follows the story of a cool and carefree high school senior Landon, who is asked to do community service after a prank goes terribly wrong. There, he meets a bookworm named Jamie and the two develop romantic feelings for each other. But the story takes a turn when Landon learns a secret about Jamie.
Sita Ramam, 2022 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film is a period romantic drama that is narrated in two timelines around two decades apart. The story follows an orphaned Army man Lieutenant Ram (played by Dulquer Salmaan), who gets a mysterious love letter from a woman named Sita (Mrunal Thakur). But when he writes a letter to Sita, it does not reach her. Later, a Pakistani student Afreen (Rashmika Mandanna) gets involved in Ram and Sita’s love story and sets out to deliver the long-lost letter.
Hachi: A Dog’s Tale, 2009 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The film’s underlying plot is based on the true story of a dog named Hachiko, who resided in Japan in the 1920s period and is known for his incredible loyalty to his owner. The heartrending film features Richard Gere as a music professor who adopts a lost Akita puppy which he finds on a train station platform and they both form an everlasting bond.
Karwaan, 2018 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The light-hearted and understated comedy film is about a road journey with three totally different personalities. One is a reserved IT employee (nicely underplayed by Dulquer Salmaan), second is the carefree driver (played by the ever-dependable Irrfan Khan) and third is the effervescent youngster (played by Mithila Palkar).
