Last Friday, John Abraham starrer ‘Attack Part 1’ had made its way to theatres. Despite its insipid box office response, the film is being praised for some aspects by a segment of audiences and critics.

Elysium (Streaming on Netflix)
This was Neill Blomkamp’s second directorial feature film after the widely acclaimed ‘District 9’. ‘Elysium’ is a dystopian sci-fi actioner that is set in the year 2154.
The society is divided into two disparate classes – the super affluent and powerful people who live on a splendid space station called Elysium and the remaining majority population resides on a damaged and overpopulated Earth.
But when an LA-based laborer Max (Matt Damon) learns that he has just five days to live because of lethal exposure to radiation, he must find a way to Elysium which houses an advanced medical device that can cure him.
Alita: Battle Angel (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by Robert Rodriguez, the futuristic sci-fi action movie is set in the year 2563 and revolves around a dismantled female cyborg Alita, who is accidentally discovered by a mysterious scientist Dr. Ido.
With no memory of her past but equipped with deadly combat skills, Alita goes on a violent mission to know more about herself and her past.
Iron Man (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
When the eccentric but genius billionaire Tony Stark is kidnapped by a terrorist group, he builds a hi-tech armored suit and escapes captivity. Later, he further refines the suit, assumes the superhero mantle of Iron Man, and uses it to fight against a formidable nemesis. The film was directed by Jon Favreau.
Ghost in the Shell (Streaming on SonyLIV)
Based on the Japanese manga of the same name, the film features ‘Black Widow’ actress Scarlett Johansson in the role of a unique, cybernetically enhanced super-soldier named Major.
She does not remember her past and is later recruited into an elite anti-terrorist organization. But when Major finds out the truth about her body’s experiment, she sets out to exact revenge on those responsible for it.
Blade Runner 2049 (Streaming on Netflix)
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, it’s a sequel to Ridley Scott’s cult 1982 science fiction film ‘Blade Runner’. The film is set thirty years after the original film’s incidents.
In the year 2049, a Blade Runner named K (played by Ryan Gosling) does the job of killing rogue bioengineered humanoids known as replicants. He uncovers a critical secret that leads him to find another Blade Runner whose whereabouts are unknown for three decades.
