Set in a world where families can legally have just one child, a group of seven identical sisters (played by Noomi Rapace) try their best to live their lives without government detection and execution. But their lives are suddenly upturned when one of them suddenly disappears. How they desperately try to find their missing sister forms the film’s basic plot.
Minority Report, 2002 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Helmed by Steven Spielberg, the film is set in a future where impending crimes are prevented by an elite organization called Precrime. It’s done with the help of three psychic humans called Precogs, who can foresee crimes that are yet to happen. When Precrime’s commanding officer (played by Tom Cruise) is himself predicted by the Precogs that he will soon kill a person he does not even know yet, he becomes a fugitive.
Predestination, 2014 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The film features Ethan Hawke in the role of a time-traveling agent, who travels back in time to prevent a criminal from executing a deadly bomb attack. The premise may sound simple at first, but the screenplay gets delightfully complicated as the movie progresses.
Cloverfield, 2008 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Matt Reeves (Director – The Batman) and narrated in a found-footage format, the sci-fi horror film follows a group of friends who are partying in New York. Their get-together is interrupted after the arrival of a massive monster who wreaks havoc on the whole city, and everyone is forced to run for their lives in the chaotic city.
