Shoorveer is just a few days away from getting released. The grand show on Disney+Hotstar is based on a regiment which consists of top officers from the Army, Navy and Air force.
Although this concept is not new in many international projects, the trailer and the scale in it is giving us great hope. So before you stream Shoorveer, it is important to know what kind of series we have got so far in that genre.
Special Ops– Hotstar
The best in this genre so far has to be Special Ops itself which is offered by Disney+Hotstar. Led by Kay Kay Menon, the show talks about some special officers spread across the Middle East countries who are performing their job of protecting their nation.
Regiment Diaries-Netflix/Prime Video
This documentary series is streaming on both Netflix and Prime Video. It is actually an EPIC original that talks to veteran officers from the Indian Army.
The three-episode season covers the Bombay Sappers, Bihar Regiment, and Regiment of Artillery. It is extremely important to know the psyche of the soldiers and this documentary does exactly that.
The Test Case-Jio Cinema
A few titles portray women leading the defence forces. It is extremely important to show such women as their contribution to the defence forces largely goes unnoticed.
The Test Case starring Nimrat Kaur does exactly that with a brilliant and convincing performance by her. Even Shoorveer has Regina Cassandra whose character is kinda tempting.
The Forgotten Army-Prime Video
Sunny Kaushal and Sharwari Bagh starred in this Prime Video series which is also kinda forgotten by the masses. It was directed by Ek The Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame Kabir Khan.
The series is based on true incidents when Subhash Chandra Bose established INA to fight against the British forces. Indeed an encyclopedia of knowledge, this series is a must-watch.
Jeet Ki Zid-Zee5
Criminally underrated, Amit Sadh starrer Jeet Ki Zid is unmissable. The series is based on the life of Major Deependra Singh Sengar who fought in the Kargil War.
Amit Sadh is a highly talented actor and he portrayed the character with utmost perfection.
Thus before Shoorveer comes, these titles are must worth considering.
