Mostly, films and series are shot in multiple locations. But there are some filmmakers who were able to create some fine films just by shooting the film mostly on a single location. Despite being a double edged sword, the very idea of ‘Single Location Films’ adds a bit of intrigue to the plot. For this article, we have compiled a list of five single location movies which you can stream on various Indian OTT platforms. So, here we go.
Panic Room, 2002 (Streaming on Zee5 – Rent)
Directed by David Fincher, the film follows a single mother (Jodie Foster) and her young daughter (Kristen Stewart), who lock themselves in their newly acquired house’s safe room after three burglars invade their home.
Hard Candy, 2006 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
The psychological thriller movie follows a teenage girl Hayley (Elliot Page), who meets a charming fashion photographer Jeff (Patrick Wilson) and then goes to his home. The goings-on take a serious turn after the true natures of both Hayley and Jeff are revealed. It’s quite a hard-hitting and violent film, so viewers’ discretion is strongly advised before watching it.
Bullet Train, 2022 (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by David Leitch, the action-comedy movie is based on Japanese author Kotaro Isaka’s book ‘Maria Beetle’. The film’s underlying premise revolves around five assassins traveling on a Japanese bullet train and how their individual missions intersect in the high-speed adventure. Brad Pitt essays the role of an experienced but unlucky mercenary.
Cube, 1997 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Lionsgate Play)
The film is an engaging science fiction mystery thriller that follows a group of disparate strangers who wake up to find themselves in a massive cube with possibly hundreds of rooms filled with traps. They must team up together and use their unique skills in order to escape the seemingly infinite and deadly maze.
The Hateful Eight, 2015 (Streaming on Lionsgate Play / Amazon Prime Video (Rent))
Helmed by Quentin Tarantino, the film follows a bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russel), who is traveling with his fugitive prisoner (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and another bounty hunter (Samuel L. Jackson). On the way to the Red Rock town, they take refuge in a cabin after a blizzard where they encounter some strange characters.
