Netflix is going through a hard time. They have cancelled many shows/films in the past few days as a response to the huge decline in the number of subscribers. But there is also a lot of great films/series coming in May on the platform.
Thus have a look at 6 films which Netflix officially recommends us to watch this month.
Along for the Ride (May 6)
TO ALL THE BOYS screenwriter Sofia Alvarez’s directorial debut ALONG FOR THE RIDE releases on Netflix on May 6. It is a summer romance about two insomniacs in a sleepy seaside town. It is based on Sarah Dessen’s novel of the same name.
The Takedown (May 6)
Ousmane and François are two cops with extremely different if not opposite styles. The uncomfortable pair are reunited once again for a new investigation. What seemed to be a simple drug deal turns out to be a high-scale criminal case wrapped in danger. It is The sequel to 2012’s ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS!
Operation Mincemeat (May 11)
Set in 1943, this is yet another film on World War 2. As the Allies are determined to launch an all-out assault on Fortress Europe, they face an impossible challenge – to protect a massive invasion force from German firepower and avert a highly likely massacre. Directed by John Madden, it is based on a true story.
Senior Year (May 13)
A high-school cheerleader played by Rebel Wilson falls into a coma before her prom. Twenty years later, she finally wakes up and wants to return to high school to enjoy her prom party and pose as the Prom queen.
Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror (May 18)
The film tells the story of the group of civilians who hunted down and caught the perpetrators behind the infamous “Nth Room” case which still remains one of the most devastating digital crimes to ever hit Korea.
A Perfect Pairing (May 19)
This is a not so common love story which is already in tonnes on Netflix. Still, Netflix never abandons woke content. It is the story of a food and wine critic who falls for a single father after she bumps her head and ends up losing her memory.
Sadly, Netflix did not recommend the Indian film Thar through their official handle which is much more promising than at least “A Perfect Pairing”. Had Netflix focussed more on their recommendations then the situations might be different.
