6 Must Watch Short Films On ZEE5 That One Should Not Skip

ZEE5 is one of India’s premier streaming platforms with a bunch to offer. From unconventional web series to the best of Bollywood films both old and new, ZEE5 is filled with surprises for many. Not only are these available in Hindi, but most of them are already available to fans in various Indian languages too. ZEE5 in this process has also taken quite good care of the regional culture. But, along with all these ZEE5 has a bunch of Short Films to be watched. Some of which are their originals. So here’s a list of 6 ZEE5 must-watch short films, which people shouldn’t miss at all.

Toothbrush

Toothbrush ZEE5

The theme of love, longing, and moving on has always been a topic of interest for filmmakers and Toothbrush is no less. The difference here is that this short film explores more of the moving on the factor of the relationship. Starring Samir Soni and Kristine Zedek, the film follows this couple whose status is complicated. While most say, opposites attract; for them, it isn’t true as one is introverted and the other extroverted. While the film follows the man’s obsession with his woman, they decide to take time off from their relationship. The entire film focuses on how moving on is something that can be the best solution for people at times. The movie is directed by Tanya Deohans

Moh

Moh ZEE5

Moh, a short film follows the story of a girl named Shruti, who had everything she wanted while she was growing up. But above all, she had something, which most youngsters die to have at a point. She was given the freedom by her parents to go anywhere and be anywhere at any time. She was never time-bound and her family had trust in her. But, within no time this short film will bring the toughest to tears as the film progresses to show how Shruti slips into depression. She tells the story of how something so close and dear to her was taken away and now she is left with nothing but the depression that came with it. The heartbreaking story behind Shruti’s past is what makes up the entire film. The film was the digital debut for Adah Sharma.

Fatafat

Fatafat ZEE5

The movie is based on a digestive pill that used to be really famous back in the 90s. The story follows actor Divyendu Sharma who plays a young call centre employee and isn’t having any good time in his life. His professional life is a complete mess and, let’s not even get onto his love life. As he roams around, tired and frustrated, he meets a salesman who coaxes him into buying a pill for patience. He is in for a shock of a lifetime when he feels that the pill is indeed working. Even though he still is astonished by this fact, he still gets out there, ready to get even more of this pill and this is where the actual journey of the film begins. The film tells a lot about the “placebo effect”, where when we eat or do something, knowing that might be the medicine, we already start getting better and feel like it’s working its magic, but most of the time, it is the mind that’s doing its game.

Khaar

Khaar ZEE5

Khaar is a historical short film from ZEE5 that tells the story of Mahatma Gandhi and how he carried out the famous Dandi March. The movie shows how Mahatma Gandhi single-handedly, without any support from the Indian National Congress or any leader of that time, led the Dandi March, which eventually changed the course of India’s history. The movie basically focuses on how Gandhi initiated a small step that ended up becoming a mass movement that made India’s freedom struggle known to the world. The movie also reveals various secrets, which might come as a shock to many.

Sone Bhi Do Yaaron

Sone Bhi Do Yaaron

This is one short film that is made for those who love to sleep, which is basically all of us, let’s be honest. Sone Bhi Do Yaaron is a 10-minute ZEE5 original short comedy film featuring an ensemble cast. The film follows a hilarious story of a young man who is at this point severely sleep-deprived and in dire need of sleep. He has an important event in a few hours and the only thing he needs right now is sleep. While he feels like he can get some sleep now, his friend’s uncle drops in and makes things worse for him. Will our young man finally get his much-needed sleep?

Svah! So Be It

Svah! So Be It

Directed by Gauri Daswani, the short film tries to serve a concept that is age-old but in a new package with her 12-minute short film Svah! So Be It. The movie follows the concept of ideas and gives this a twist. The story follows the journey of a couple who meets on a dating site and decides to get married. They are a perfectly balanced couple, who have no issues with each other. But as the saying goes, “people can’t see others in peace”, they too start facing issues. All of their issues are not something that is created because of them but in fact, are created by the people around them. While they create obstacles, few important questions arise in the process. The movie is made to smash the patriarchy and all the marriage taboos that have been created in our society overall these centuries. The film features Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rajit Kapur, and Shilpa Tulaskar in prominent roles.
